Citizenship in British West Florida can be obtained by Right of Birth, or by Sworn Oath. Persons born in British West Florida, or born to parents with British West Florida Citizenship are Citizens by Birth. Loyalists born within the British Empire, that is to say the United Kingdom or one of the Dominions are also Eligible for Citizenship by birth, if they so desire. Any other natural person wishing to become a Citizen of British West Florida must swear Allegiance to Her Majesty. The Oath of Allegiance is the same as the Oath of Office administered to all British West Florida Government Officers and Agents.

The Oath of Allegiance

I, [ Full Name ], swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Brittan and Northern Ireland, the Dominion of British West Florida, and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, and Her heirs and successors according to law, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of the Dominion of British West Florida and fulfill my duties as a Dominion of British West Florida citizen.

I, [ Full Name ], do also swear that I will well and truly serve our Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth the Second and will do right to all manner of people, after the laws and usages of the province, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.

Certificates of Citizenship

The Office of the Governor-General is charged with maintaining the Dignity and Supremacy of the Crown in British West Florida. As Her Majesty's Representative in British West Florida, The Office of the Governor-General issues Identity Papers, Passports and Visas. Many citizens have expressed a desire to have a Certificate of Citizenship that they could display in their own home. The Governor-General has heard your requests and a Certificate of Citizenship application packet is now available as a pdf. The Certificate looks like this. Completed applications should be mailed, along with cheque or money-order for $10.00 US funds on a US bank to:
